One of the world’s most famous cats was in Havana, Florida this weekend. “Lil’ Bub”, owned by Mike Bridavsky of Bloomington, Indiana, was making a personal appearance to raise money for the Tallahassee chapter of It’s Meow or Never for Ferals.
Bub fans came from miles around, including 11-year old Sierra Coker whose family drove all the way from Asheville, North Carolina.
“She’s cute and she has a little tongue sticking out all the time,” Sierra exclaimed, nearly beside herself with job over meeting the object of her affection, “She’s just SO cute with the tongue sticking out!”
Despite the fact Lil’ Bub has nearly 3 million “likes” on her own Facebook page, It’s Meow or Never for Ferals’ Mary Nall wasn’t sure a hundred people would shell out $100 each for tickets to see and meet the famous feline.
“I really didn’t,” she admitted. “I was really very surprised and amazed and thankful.”
The ticket sellout meant a total of $10,000 for the organization, as well as a portion of the Lil’ Bub merchandise sales that took place during the visit. Nall says the money will support capture, spay/neuter and release programs to reduce the area’s population of homeless cats.
