Tally Top Pet Contest Underway

Tom Flanigan

The Sixth Annual Tally Top Pet Photo Contest is underway. The event kicked off on Saturday 3/5/16).

The vast bulk of the competitors showing up at the St. Pauls United Methodist Church event site were dogs. But there were exceptions, like Lilly Ann Dunsbee's white bunny named…

“President Von Marshmallow Socks II,” she grinned, gently cradling her twitchy-nosed companion. “He’s sweet and soft!”

Pets and their owners had their pictures taken by master photogs, such as Michelle Hartsfield.

“I just stay focused on the pets,” she said, explaining her technique. “It’s completely different from photographing children, humans, anything like that. Pets are completely different.”

Online voting is free this year and all entry fees benefit the spay and neuter vouchers from Be the Solution, which is headed by Gerry Phipps.

“If you win, you get to ride on the Springtime Tallahassee parade float,” she said. “There are lots of winners; lots of category winners and then the big winner.”

Online entries will be taken through March nineteenth at: www.bethesolution.us/
