FOX NFL Reporter, Alumna Pam Oliver Keynotes FAMU's Summer Commencement

FOX Sports

This summer’s graduating class at Florida A&M University will hear from long-time sports broadcaster and alumna Pam Oliver. The former FOX NFL anchorwoman and sideline reporter got her start at FAMU, and credits the faculty and staff for helping her get her first two jobs.

“FAMU was almost my agent in the beginning when they said, ‘There is an opening here, and we think you should go for it," she told the Wall Street Journal in January 2014.

"I tell kids all the time, go where you can get a job. I have kids all the time who say, 'what’s the secret' and I say, ‘go where you can get a job—wherever you can get it,'" she said.

Last year FOX announced Oliver would be replaced by Erin Andrews. But this year the network announced it had reached a deal with Oliver to keep her on its sideline reporting team for another two years. Oliver will keynote FAMU’s commencement ceremony on August 7th.
