TPD Sergeant Arrested For Solicitation Of Prostitution

Leon County Jail

A Tallahassee Police Department officer has been arrested for solicitation of prostitution. Sergeant Brian Davis turned himself in and was booked  into the Leon County Jail Friday.

On March 27, the TPD officers responded to a call from the Days inn on Apalachee Parkway in reference to possible drugs being sold out of a room. While officers did not find drugs at the location, they did find a well-known local prostitute and a man—who turned out to be Sergeant Brian Davis, who was off-duty at the time. Deputy Police Chief Darryl Forsyth says Davis’ case has been turned over to the state attorney’s office.

“Mr. Davis will continue to be on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation. Once the criminal case and internal investigation are complete, the findings will be released per Florida public records law.”

Davis was placed on administrative leave in January for a separate incident. He was recently cleared by a grand jury. In January Davis fired into a car that contained a suspect in a murder case.

According to the probable cause affidavit, during a follow-up interview, the woman, Afton Chewning, told TPD officers she met Davis after he found her number through a website widely used to solicit. TPD is forwarding the case to the state attorney’s office.
