Florida A&M University’s President Elmira Mangum and the Board of Trustees met Wednesday to address ongoing concerns regarding the President's performance.
The university is organizing its board with the addition of two new members. Mangum says it’s an opportunity for transparency.
“I think the format here was a good one for us; in terms of reporting out,” Mangum says. “I think we have a few kinks to work out in terms of scheduling and committee structures. But, by in large it was a good opportunity and a good way to proceed.”
Several board members expressed disappointment in the Mangum administration's lack of direct interaction with them, but stopped short of issuing a reprimand.
Because the Legislature is still in session, a FAMU trustee member says the budgets for Florida public universities are in limbo.
