A Leon County school district administrator is seeking a superintendent’s job….in Nashville, Tennessee. Longtime state and local administrator Stu Greenberg is on the job hunt.

Before arriving at the Leon County School District, Stuart Greenburg worked at the Florida Department of Education. He was director of Just Read Florida! and the Office of Early Learning for the state. Now, he’s the Director of School Accountability for Leon County Schools, and steers the district’s school improvement programs.

Greenburg has tossed his name in the pool for the job of Nashville school superintendent. Nashville is an urban district more than twice the size of Leon County, and local officials there say they want someone familiar with a similarly-sized system.

In April he applied for an open position in Palm Beach County, and in February applied for a job in Indian River County. According to the TCPalm, Greenberg was runner-up for St. Lucie County’s Superintendent, a job that was offered to the former Palm Beach Superintendent.

Greenberg speaks to local teachers during an Aug. 2012 training session at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.
