Dozier Tapped for International Economic Development Exchange

Leon County Government

Leon County Commissioner Kristin Dozier is among four-dozen leaders from all over the Western Hemisphere chosen to take part in the Third America’s Competitiveness Exchange.  Dozier said her first fact-finding trip would take place right away.

“I will be leaving Saturday (April 18),” she said.  “The first stop is Minneapolis, then we will move through a couple of small towns to Madison, Wisconsin, ending in Chicago and returning in a week.”

Dozier said she’d be keeping county residents, and anyone else interested in the trip, informed throughout her journey.

“I’ll be doing daily updates on Facebook, letting folks know what I’m seeing and how it connects to the research and programs that we’ve put in place like DOMI and other things in recent years,” Dozier explained.  “I really want to make that connection and get everyone involved.”

Dozier hopes what she learns from participation in the exchange can help jump start Leon County’s efforts to diversify its economy and create more jobs at all levels.  The program is run by the Economic Development Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
