Man Arrested For Death Threats Against Wakulla Sheriff

WCSO

A Wakulla man has been arrested and charged with threatening to kill Wakulla County Sheriff Charlie Creel.

Crawfordville Resident, Ronald Ray Canada, 67, was arrested at his home. According to the WCSO, its dispatch officer received information that Canada wanted to kill Sheriff Creel.

Three officers went to Canada's home and asked the subject to come out of the house. The subject refused to show his hands from behind his back. The subject refused to comply with the commands of the deputies at first, but was secured without incident inside his home.

According to the WCSO:

Canada made threats toward the Sheriff and other law enforcement officers and was transported to the Wakulla County Jail without incident. He faces a felony charge of making threats of harming a public servant and a misdemeanor charge of resisting an officer without violence.

“The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office always takes threats like these seriously, but that is particularly true with the climate in our society at the present time,” said Sheriff Charlie Creel. “Mr. Canada remains in the Wakulla County Jail pending his first appearance.”
