Leon County business leaders and politicians met early Tuesday to discuss how they’ve fared thus far in the legislative session.
“It’s a push-pull relationship," County Commission Chairman Bryan Desloge says, "there’s a fight between local and state government. You know, what happens is they’ve got the same restraints we do where there is a limited amount of resources and an unlimited amount of need."
Desloge says he’s still pushing for a bill mandating the installation of a call button at gas pumps so the handicapped can seek assistance.
“Now there’s phone numbers on stickers which is what the state is kind of proposing, or you use a cell phone or you beep your horn,” he says.
A post-session meeting will be held Tuesday, May 13th at 7:30 a.m. in the Commission Chambers, located on the fifth floor of the Leon County Courthouse.
