Leon County Libraries Host Free 'Ask A Lawyer' Sessions This Week

Leon County Library

Free legal advice is available this evening and Saturday morning at Leon County libraries. Volunteer lawyers will be at the Dr. Perry Branch Library Tuesday and the main downtown library Saturday.

Legal Services of North Florida lawyers are giving the “Ask A Lawyer” sessions as part of the American Bar Association’s Pro Bono Celebration. Legal Services Director of Development John Fenno says lawyers can answer questions about a wide range of issues.

“Some folks might have—they might be behind on their mortgage payments and are looking at foreclosure. They might have gotten a letter from a bank," he says.

Fenno says attorneys can also offer advice on divorces, bankruptcy and issues with landlords, among other topics. Those seeking advice are encouraged to bring any relevant documents to explain their issues.

Tuesday's session is 5 to 8 p.m. at the Dr. B. L. Perry Branch Library, 2817 S. Adams St., Tallahassee, FL 32301

Saturday’s session will run from 10 a.m. to noon at the Main Library, 200 W. Park Ave., Tallahassee, FL 32301.
