Sandbag Fill-Up Station Now Open At Messer South Parking Lot

ses.sa.gov.au

City officials are telling residents to come with their own shovels  to Jackson Bluff Road, near Appleyard at the Messer South Parking lot. That’s where the sandbag fill-up site will be located. The city will provide the bags and the sand. There is a 25 bag per-household limit.

The city is also moving road blocks on city streets that are prone to flooding, but the barricades won’t be placed in the street until there is flooding.

Tropical Storm Andrea is currently located about 140 miles SW of the Big Bend shoreline. It’s expected to make landfall this evening between 5 and 8 p.m. with the center of the storm somewhere near Perry.

Tallahassee is expected to get heavy rains and wind, which could lead to downed trees and scattered power outages.
