Tallahassee Art And Science Museum Could Stay Alive 'In Spirit' After Closing

This summer is the last chance for guests to visit the Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science in downtown Tallahassee. But museum directors are hoping its exhibits will live on elsewhere in the community after the museum’s scheduled closure in September.

Tallahassee’s art and science museum will close its doors in the beginning of September. But Brogan Board of Directors President Felicia Nowels said, she’s hoping to let the museum to live on in the community, in a way, by finding buyers.

“We are trying very hard to keep the spirit of the Brogan --that’s the art and science experience and exhibits-- alive in Tallahassee somehow," she said.

No deals are final yet. And no matter what, exhibits will stay at the museum until it closes, she said.

Starting Monday, it’s open to the public weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

And the Brogan is taking registrations for its final summer of children’s camps. The week-long sessions have themes like Star Wars and dinosaurs.

For more information on the camps, visit the Brogan Museum website.
