Local business and community leaders are hosting a viewing party this Thursday for the television show Scandal. The event will be held at the Sheraton Four Points and will feature a fashion show before the event.
The show’s star, Kerry Washington, is a famous Boys and Girls Club alum, and event organizer Brooke Hobbs saw the connection as a way to support local charity. All proceeds will be donated to support the Boys and Girls Club in Miccosukee.
“If we can help provide more opportunities for more young people to go to the Carrie Wilson Club at Miccosukee, and work with the very talented staff at the Boys and Girls Club out there, then we certainly want to do everything that we can to make that happen,” Hobbs said.
The Miccosukee Boys and Girls Club faces significant funding challenges, since the majority of club members attend camp on scholarships.
