FAMU Gets New Trustee In School Choice Group's Gilzean

Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Glen Gilzean to the Florida A&M University Board of Trustees.

Gilzean, 30, of St. Petersburg, is vice president of Step Up For Students. He previously worked in the Pinellas County School Board and as a regional field director for the Florida Department of Education. He is a member of the NAACP Education Committee. Gilzean received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Florida. He succeeds Charles Langston and is appointed for a term beginning March 14, 2013, and ending January 6, 2018.

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
