Too Much Holiday Partying? Free Rides, Towing Available In Leon Co.

For people heading to holiday parties or bars, there are some free ways to make sure there’s a safe ride home. A local drink distributor is sponsoring cab rides and car towing this month.

Drunk driving deaths increase during the holidays. That’s why local Budweiser distributor Tri-Eagle Sales and Yellow Cab are offering free rides home from Leon County restaurants and bars, from 8 p.m until 3 a.m., until New Year’s Day.

Tri-Eagle’s Kristen Black said, all people have to do is ask the bar manager to call Yellow Cab.

“If someone makes a poor choice and has too much to drink, we don’t want them to make that second poor choice and get behind the wheel of a car and put, you know, our whole community at risk potentially,” she said.

And, from Dec. 21 until New Year’s Day, people can also get a free ride and their car towed for free from anywhere in Leon County through Tri-Eagle and AAA’s Tow to Go program.

Black said, more than 1,000 people in Leon County get rides from one of the two programs every year.

To get a free ride through Tow to Go, call 1-800-AAA-HELP 24 hours a day.
