Nonprofit Group's National Campaign on Federal Debt Comes to Tallahassee

On Capital Circle, South of U.S. 90 in Tallahassee, a billboard with a message about federal debt is going up this week. It's part of a campaign against government spending called "Stop Digging" by the nonprofit group Public Notice.

"Our goal in doing this is basically just to try to influence national debate that is happening. Coming back toward the issues that are important to Americans, to spending, to the economy, and jobs. Encouraging candidates, Congress, and the President to put forward their plans for cutting and reducing debt." says the group's Executive director Gretchen Hamel.

Featuring 48 billboards across ten states, the campaign also includes all heavily-contested states in the upcoming elections. But Hamel says it's not about politics. The first billboard is going up Monday and all 48 should be up by the end of the week. The billboard campaign closely followed the group's TV campaign ending last weekend.
