Fire heavily damaged a Tallahassee quadruplex overnight. Investigators say the cause of the blaze appears to be malicious.
The blaze in the 800-block of Arkansas Street broke out just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. Fire crews arrived on the scene within minutes and evacuated a total of eight people from the four residences n the building. No one was hurt, but the fires scorched three adjoining housing units with overall damages estimated at $75,000. Investigators traced the source of the firs to a mattress and box springs that were leaning against the outside of the building. The fire appeared to be deliberately set and the search is on for whoever sparked the blaze.
