Tallahassee, FL – Tallahassee Police say alcohol was a factor in this weekend's fatal crash on West Tharpe Street. Tom Flanigan reports one of the drivers in the two-car collision had a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit.
Twenty-year old Jordan Scott Griffith of Tallahassee was driving the Infiniti that turned into the path of Samuel Rogers' Honda early Sunday morning at Tharpe Street and Devra Drive. Rogers died in the crash. Griffith was treated for minor injuries at the scene and his blood was also checked for alcohol. Tallahassee Police have now released the crash report. It shows Griffith's blood alcohol level was .24, or three times the drunk driving threshold of .08. In Florida, a DUI violation that results in death is either a first or second degree felony, depending on circumstances. Police haven't said yet how Griffith might be charged.
