Tallahassee, FL – The Gulf oil spill is still causing hardship for many Big Bend residents and businesses. Tom Flanigan reports there's new help and hope for those trying to recover.
Untold numbers of claims have gone either un-filed or unfulfilled. Kris Knab, Legal Services of North Florida executive director says her organization is ready to lend a hand.
"Some of it is helping people who have filed on their own, but oftentimes they'll get questions back saying it's not enough documentation and helping those people if we can to pull together the right information and analyze that for them and other times it's actually just letting people know that there is funding available and help."
That help is available to low-income residents and small businesses in Franklin, Gulf, Bay, Okaloosa, Walton, Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Anyone interested can contact Legal Services of North Florida offices in Panama City, Fort Walton Beach, Pensacola and Tallahassee.
