Tallahassee, FL – State Representative Alan Williams is touring the Big Bend area to bring attention to job creation and job growth this week. As Sascha Cordner reports, the Democratic lawmaker says the week-long tour will promote new economic development.
Williams says his tour consists of visiting and highlighting new private sector firms, like Bing Energy, Affiliated Computer Systems, and BASF, Incorporated. He says he hopes to empower small businesses to start hiring again.
"I'm focusing a lot of attention on various businesses and companies to get a better understanding of what their needs are, how can we as state legislators continue to have a better relationship with them. But, also how can we also foster the environment for businesses to flourish."
Representative Williams says because of the recent budget cuts and reduction of state employment, he wants all displaced state workers to also visit WWW.BIGBENDWORKS.COM to ensure that those who lost their jobs get a chance for re-employment.
