Tallahassee, FL – Several Law Enforcement agencies are partnering together to make sure parents are provided with the proper information in the event their child disappears. Sascha Cordner reports Sheriff's deputies and police officers are coming together in Gadsden County for Saturday's "I-D A Child Event."
The North Florida Chapter of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, or NOBLE, is hosting the event along with the Gadsden Sheriff's Office, the Quincy Police Department, and the Midway Police Department. David Perry is the Chief of Police at Florida State University AND President of NOBLE.
"We'll pick a location that's heavily populated and work with local law enforcement within that area to facilitate identifying the children, taking pictures, filling out the cards, fingerprinting them, and then giving that information back to the parents so they can have that in case their child is ever reported missing or abducted."
Perry says there have been success stories in the past that have allowed events like this one to continue. The "I-D A Child Event" will be held in the Wal-Mart Shopping Center on Pat Thomas Parkway in Quincy. It starts at 10 A-M, and should end at noon.
