Tallahassee, FL – The Wakulla County School district has been honored as one of 13 high performing school districts in Florida. Lynn Hatter reports.

The designation as a high-performing school district comes from the state Department of Education. In order to receive the honor, a district has to have met constitutionally mandated class size limits, earned high school and district grades and have control of its finances through good audits. This is the third year in a row that Wakulla County has received the honor. It allows districts exemptions to certain rules, like the ability to start school earlier in the year.
