Tallahassee, FL – A new poll out Tuesday shows Florida Governor Rick Scott is growing increasingly unpopular, though he wasn't very popular to begin with. As Lynn Hatter reports, Scott's unfavorable ratings are rising in bi-partisan fashion.

The Public Policy Polling Institute has found more than 80-percent of Democrats, 27-percent of Republicans and 54-percent of Republicans approve of Governor Rick Scott's job performance so far. Tom Jensen with the polling group, says the governor's honeymoon period, if there ever was one, is officially over.

"Scott's made it clear that he's going to do things his own way whether people like it or not. Normally you wouldn't be able to get elected to office that way, but he actually did manage to last fall. And I think he's just going to continue on in that way. What it means is that unless 2014 is another hugely Republican year, Scott will be a one term governor, but that may be fine by him."

The left -leaning polling institute says 2014 is still three years away and Scott says he wants to be successful, not popular. Meanwhile Florida's newest U.S. Senator is doing much better. In the same poll, Marco Rubio has a 43-to-31 percent approval rating, with Fellow Senator Bill Nelson's ratings at 38-to-34 percent approve.
