Tallahassee, FL – Democrat Alex Sink is getting strong support from the law enforcement community in her bid for governor. Gina Jordan reports she touted her police union endorsements outside the Capital Tuesday.

The Fraternal Order of Police and the Police Benevolent Association are backing Sink and her running mate, attorney and former state Senator Rod Smith. PBA Executive Director David Murrell picked on Republican candidate Rick Scott's jobs creation plan, suggesting it would result in a lot of serial killers prowling the streets.

"First of all, he wants to cut the Department of Corrections budget by
almost 50 percent, 50 percent," said Murrell. I don't have to tell you what this means, but I'll tell you anyway. It means early release of prisoners."

Including, he said, Danny Rolling and Ted Bundy wanna-bes. Murrell also chided Scott for planning to cut the number of state employees by five percent. Sink mentioned her reform plan, but didn't offer more details. Sink's campaign says she is the first Democratic candidate for governor in 20 years to receive the endorsement of both the PBA and FOP.

"If [Sctt's] plan goes through," said Murrell, "you're going to have a lot of Danny Rollings, you're going to have the Ted Bundy wanna-be's who are out on the street preying on our citizens. That s what it means."
