Tallahassee, FL – The news of former Republican Party of Florida Chair Jim Greer's arrest Wednesday morning at his Oviedo home focused media questions on Governor Charlie Crist during a Tallahassee news conference.

"Well, I think it's obviously disappointing and surprising. I have faith in our judicial system. I know that they will handle it appropriately."

The governor was then asked whether he regrets nominating Greer for the chairmanship and feels complicit in his behavior given that Crist stood by Greer till the end. Crist responded, "I do not feel complicit."

The governor then left the Emergency Operations Center and flew off to Pensacola to see how that city is preparing for possible impact by the Gulf oil spill.

Greer, a long-time friend and supporter of Crist, now faces charges of organized fraud, money laundering and grand theft. Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigators say Greer funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars from the party to himself and a business partner.
