Bowl for Kids' Sake

Tallahassee, FL – Teams of bowlers will gather at Crenshaw Lanes on FSU's campus this weekend to "Bowl for Kids' Sake." It's the 26th year for the annual fundraiser hosted by Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend. CEO Louis Garcia says hundred of kids are currently being served in one-on-one mentoring relationships.
"But we have over three-hundred kids on our waiting list as well, mainly boys, because boys will wait at least a year for a big brother. That also tells you that our biggest need for volunteers are big brothers, and men need to step up and become role models and mentors in the community."
The money raised this Saturday will enable the organization to hire more case workers and make more matches. They are still looking for bowling teams. Participants will get a T-shirt and free lunch.
There are three sessions available this Saturday, May 22nd starting at noon, 2:30 and 5:00. For more information, visit Bigbrothers-bigsisters.org or call (850) 386-6002. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Big Bend is also on Facebook.
