Tallahassee, FL –
A yearly fundraiser to benefit a Tallahassee animal aid agency draws cat lovers from all over the Big Bend. Feline fanciers checked out the cat-themed art, fashions, jewelry and gifts. The fundraiser was Treatment Resources and Education for Animals in Temporary Shelter, Inc. Marja Milliard even wrote a song for the occasion.
"Long and tan and striped and spotted, the cat from Tallahassee was trotting, and as she passes the toms she passes go mrrrowwrrr!"
The event was "For Cats' Sake" at the Faith Presbyterian Church hall. Participant Cindy Cosper says everyone was welcome.
"There's things for fish people and dog people and monkey people this year, so there's a variety of items. Most of us who like cats like other animals and have a greater respect for creation."
All proceeds of the event went to TREATS, Incorporated for its animal aid programs. TREATS has provided nearly a hundred-thousand dollars in spay and neuter services over the past few years.
