Tallaassee, FL – As the City of Tallahassee looks at ways to be more environmentally friendly and energy efficient, officials say the way to achieve that is by attracting more businesses like Danfoss Turbocor.

Members of the City's Environmental and Energy Resources Committee toured the production facility of Danfoss Turbocor Compressors to get ideas of the type of conservation and sustainability initiatives the city can implement to better manage its operations.

City Commissioner Gil Ziffer said, "In this particular case, we were able to wrap together what we're trying to do by lowering our usage of electricity with a company we've got here locally that actually builds a product that does that."

Danfoss Turbocor makes air conditioning equipment that is up to fifty-percent more efficient compared to average compressors. Tallahassee's High Point Center and Leon High School are just a couple of the buildings locally that have recently made the switch to the new technology.
