Tallahassee, Fl – The State of Florida is making Tallahassee Memorial's Trauma Center "official." The facility's formal designation goes into effect July first. Tallahassee Mayor John Marks remembers when the city's emergency rooms left something to be desired. In fact, just four years ago, Leon County had one of the poorest vehicle accident survival rates in the state. But now it has one of the best. A big reason is that Tallahassee Memorial has had a provisional trauma center up and running over the past year. Hospital President and C-E-O Mark O'Bryant says that comes to an end July first. At one point, it looked like the center might not happen. The hospital and Anesthesia Associates of Tallahassee were locked in a contract dispute. But O'Bryant says that was resolved awhile back. The T-M-H Trauma Center serves Leon, Calhoun, Gadsden, Franklin, Jefferson, Madison, Taylor, Liberty and Wakulla counties.
