The Museum's historic and animal exhibits will again be open to visitors after the May 8 reopening

The Museum's Executive Director Russell Dawes said not all of the facility will be opened at first.

"We're going to keep all of our buildings closed except for our cafe and we'll be following the governor's recommendations on restaurants."

But it was a State Department of Agriculture guideline that's keeping one attraction off limits for now.

"We aren't going to be able to open our zip line, although we felt we could provide social distancing on the zip line course very well since we have people harnessed and could keep distance far apart."

Still, Museum favorites like the Pioneer Farm and animal habitats will be open. The latter with some new wild animals, including a family of foxes and several hawks who have moved in on their own while the Museum was closed to humans.
