It’s that time of year when pumpkins and cobwebs are seen on the front porches of Florida’s capital city. Kids of all ages dress in costume, looking to score some candy, and enjoy a Halloween night trick-or-treating.

Sabal Palm Elementary's band was formed last year as a test bed for the initiative.

The facility, jointly operated by several partners, including the Bond Community Health Center, FSU College of Medicine and FAMU School of Pharmacy, will offer a complete catalog of treatments and therapies.

The support included a significant contribution from former school district employee Mae Cleveland and her deceased husband Rex.

Makayla Fedd’s “Curls For Queens” hairstyling event at Sabal Palm Elementary School was so successful, she’s hoping to branch out to other schools and recently launched a non-profit to get there.

Sabal Palm Elementary is hosting a back-to-school donation drive to provide low-income students with hair care products and accessories.

The Florida Department of Education recently released new graduation rates for school districts and the numbers cracked 90%. Of course—there area few caveats. One, the figures cover the 2019-2020 school year which ended amid the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

The KCCI project intends to give the area's kids safe and fun places to ride and polish their free-wheeling skills.
