Florida Republican Party Chair Evan Power was reelected Saturday with landslide support from the state’s Republican committee people.

The former Leon County Republican Party Chair bested Charlotte County GOP Chair Dave Kalin in a 183-19 vote. This is the first time he has been elected to serve in the position.

Power became the Florida GOP’s chair after former Chair Christian Ziegler resigned after a sex-related scandal. In the year he took over the role, Republicans have expanded their dominance in the state. President-elect Donald Trump performed better than every Republican presidential candidate in Florida since 1988.

Power said his party isn't finished expanding its lead in Florida.

“We're very close to flipping Hillsborough County red, and then from then, we can work on Brevard and Palm Beach. You know, we got within .6% of having a majority of Republicans vote in Palm Beach County. So we're excited about that, and we're making tremendous gains in Miami Dade County also. So we're going to focus on voter registration, getting our voters engaged, so that we can turn them out at extremely high numbers, like we did in 2024," he said

Shortly after being elected, several prominent Republicans congratulated him on social media:

His term will last two years.
