State workers will get an extra day off for the Thanksgiving holiday.

State offices will be closed Wednesday as part of an extended holiday break, according to a memo distributed to state workers on Monday.

State offices already were slated to be closed on Thanksgiving and Nov. 29. Wednesday also will be a paid day off, the memo said.

“Employees will be granted the paid day off in the form of administrative leave,” the memo stated.

Gov. Ron DeSantis for the past few years has given state workers extra days off around Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Monday’s memo only addressed the Thanksgiving holiday.
