For the second time, the criminal case against former Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence CEO Tiffany Carr is facing a delay because her attorney will be busy representing former President Donald Trump.

Attorney Christopher Kise last week asked to delay a case-management conference scheduled for Feb. 13 because he will be representing Trump in a federal-court case that day in New York. Circuit Judge Stephen Everett agreed to reschedule the conference to March 26.

Everett in November also postponed a case-management conference and arraignment for Carr because Kise was representing Trump in New York.

Carr turned herself in to North Carolina authorities in September after Florida authorities charged Carr and Patricia Duarte, a former chief financial officer for the coalition. Authorities allege they bilked the state out of more than $3.7 million from money earmarked for domestic violence shelters.

The charges stemmed, at least in part, from allegations that Carr received exorbitant compensation from the coalition.
