Going into the upcoming Florida lawmaking session Democrats are heavily outnumbered by Republicans. in the House it's 78-42. Rep. Anna Eskamani (D-Orlando) likens the odds to an uphill battle in a war. During Tuesday’s organizational session she dressed the part by adding gold spiked studs onto the shoulder pads of her blazer. Her face mask read “Good Trouble.”

"I’m here to be a happy warrior, so we’re ready for battle it’s going to be a tough legislative session for Democratic Caucus," said Eskamani. "We’re going to stay united, we’re going to find opportunities to build bridges. We’ll never be afraid to hold people accountable. That’s what Good Trouble is all about."

Eskamani is among the most outspoken members of the legislature, and she has no plans of backing down on the issues she’s passionate about. Among her priorities: addressing the state’s unemployment system, which has weighed down applicants, and, the coronavirus.
