Tallahassee Democratic Representative Ramon Alexander announced Monday that he would be introducing a bill in the 2020 legislative session that would create a fund for victims of police shooting incidents and their families. Alexander says the fund would help cover the cost of trauma-specific services.

“There are countless examples across the United States where there have been incidents involving fatalities, or deaths, or near-death situations where family members or other innocent bystanders are in close proximity to the incident will be significantly impacted by the incident for the rest of their lives," said Alexander.

He says this bill would help get those bystanders the proper help so that they can move forward after witnessing a traumatic event.
