Governor Ron DeSantis has ordered the state’s department of law enforcement to take over a criminal investigation reviewing Jeffrey Epstein’s time in a Palm Beach County work release program. Blaise Gainey has more.
Last month, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw began an investigation and internal affairs probe after allegations that Epstein violated the terms of his sentence. Specifically, a lawyer for Epstein accusers said one of his clients who was under age at the time claims she had sex with Epstein while he was on work release.
DeSantis has assigned Nineteenth Judicial Circuit State Attorney Bruce Colton to oversee the probe. He has set a one-year timeframe for the investigation.
