The Florida Cabinet gave a tongue lashing to the head of Florida’s highway patrol after a North Florida major told his troopers he expected two citations an hour.  State law prohibits ticket quotas.  Attorney General Pam Bondi criticized the directive.

“I just asked some troopers—hey do you have quotas?" Bondi said during the Cabinet meeting.  "And [they said] absolutely not, without hesitation."

"Stupid statement," Bondi said of the major's quota email.  "That’s the only way to describe what that person said.”

After the meeting patrol leadership was adamant no quota exists.  Executive director Terry Rhodes and Colonel Gene Spaulding say they’re reviewing disciplinary options and working on additional training.
