Lawmakers are criticizing the committee charged with drafting Florida’s environmental spending plan.
Rep. Loranne Ausley (D-Tallahassee) takes issue with the chair refusing to explain the House’s offer line by line.
“This is not the way, I mean I’ve been here before, this is not the way it’s been done in the past,” Ausley says, “and the speaker started this session saying this was going to be the most transparent session ever, and this process to me is not transparent.”
House and Senate leadership have already ruffled feathers by negotiating substantial parts of the state budget behind closed doors.
