A major supporter of medical marijuana in Florida’s Capitol has filed legislation implementing Amendment Two.
Orange Park Republican Senator Rob Bradley has filed a measure that promises major changes for medical marijuana if it gains approval. The proposal gives doctors greater leeway in recommending the treatment and does away with a provision requiring a 90-day relationship with the patient. The measure also establishes a path for new dispensing organizations—re-christened Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers—to enter the market. There could be as many as 20 once Florida has 500,000 qualified patients.
