Environmental groups appear to be reaping a bitter harvest from the November election and Donald Trump’s surprise victory.
Audubon of Florida executive director Eric Draper says his organization’s website traffic and newsletter readership are both up since Trump started assembling a Cabinet dominated by fossil fuel executives and anti-regulation crusaders.
“Clearly, people want some changes but I don’t think that there was a mandate for Donald Trump to change our environmental laws or to sell off our public lands or to change the trend of dealing with climate change.”
Environmental activists are up in arms over Trump’s nomination of Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson for Secretary of State. Neither are they happy with Trump’s pick to head the Environmental Protection Agency, Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, a climate change denier.
