Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Jim Boxold is admiring the audacity of some Tallahassee residents who were forced to get creative last month when Hurricane Hermine knocked out power.
“One of the most surprising things that our crews found on the generators that were powering the traffic signals was the ingenuity of the residents of Tallahassee who would run an extension cord all the way to it…”
Boxold told a Florida Chamber of Commerce forum on Thursday that he ordered his crews to unplug the unauthorized cords, and reminded them they would probably have to do it more than once.
