Scott said a falling tree killed a man in Marion County, the only storm related death reported so far.

“We will spend the coming days assessing the damage and responding to the needs of our communities and lorida families. But the number one thing is to stay safe. Do not drive standing water. Stay away from downed power lines.”

Scott said more than 70 thousand Leon County residents are without power as is nearly all of Wakulla County. Scott said more than 300 Floridians spent the night in Red Cross shelters.
