Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton is leading her Republican rival, billionaire Donald Trump, 45 percent to 41 percent, according to the latest Quinnipiac University national poll.
The poll shows the race is too close to call when a third-party candidate is added to the mix. Under that scenario, Clinton leads Trump 40 to 38, with Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson getting 5 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein at 3 percent.
Trump leads Clinton among independent voters, 40 percent to 37 percent, according to the poll.
Pollsters surveyed more than 1,500 registered voters from May 24th through 30th. The poll has a margin of error of 2.5 percent.
