Florida Governor Rick Scott held ceremonial signings Monday for two pieces of legislation.
The governor kicked off the day at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton to sign a college affordability bill. The measure doesn’t actually cut student fees, but it places hurdles in the way of raising tuition and directs the Board of Governors to develop annual strategies for reducing costs.
Next Scott headed to Lakeland to promote an agritourism bill. The new law seeks to promote the industry by pre-empting any local ordinances regulating agricultural tourism.
