The political future of former Governor Charlie Crist is looking a little brighter now that a formidable opponent is no longer casting a shadow.
The Associated Press is reporting that Eric Lynn, a former senior Pentagon advisor, is dropping out of the Democratic race to represent St. Petersburg in Congress.
Crist caused a stir in political circles when he announced he was running for the seat, which was recently redrawn to favor Democrats.
Lynn says he will run instead for the state House.
