State Officials Thwart Travel Scam

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi and Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioners Adam Putnam are cracking down on a travel company scam.

Putnam and Bondi say outlaw travel companies are reportedly charging customers for items they advertised as free. In some cases officials say the are selling people vacation packages that never can be used because of onerous conditions and black out date policies, and some of the offenders are even allegedly making unauthorized purchases on consumer’s credit cards. Bondi’s office is pursing legal action against the companies involved while Putnam’s office is working to revoke licenses from two companies.
