The Florida Forest Service is sending wildland firefighters to help battle wildfires in Texas.
As of Friday afternoon, the Hidden Pines Fire in Texas was 25 percent contained. It’s burned more than 4,300—destroying nine homes and threatened hundreds more.
To help out in combating the wildlife, 16 wildland firefighters from the North Florida area were chosen to join other firefighters in Texas.
So far, the Florida Forest Service has sent about 550 firefighters and personnel to assist with wildfires in 11 other states this year.
