The Florida Department of Agriculture and Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce will hold an Energy Summit in October. The organizations are trying to come up with plans to diversify the state’s energy sector.
The summit will bring together public officials, industry professionals and academics to discuss the future of energy in Florida. The groups plan to talk about the state’s evolving energy sector to encourage sustainable growth.
The agenda includes presentations on electric cars, energy efficient buildings and natural gas. In recent years, Agricultural Commissioner Adam Putnam has used the summit as a launch pad for initiatives, like tax cuts for energy efficient appliances.
