Give Thanks To Veterans This Month At Florida History Museum Letter Writing Station

Laura Gilmore

Want to make sure you get the chance to thank a veteran for their service? The Florida Department of State is teaming up with the state Department of Veteran’s Affairs and other groups to help send thank you letters to veterans during the month of November.

Visitors stopping at the Museum of Florida History will find a station for handwriting thank you notes outside of the World War II exhibit. The program starts on Veterans Day and runs through the end of the month. Secretary of State Ken Detzner says he thinks the span between Veterans Day and Thanksgiving is the perfect time to show veterans gratitude. Letters will be collected at the end of the month and distributed to veterans though the Florida Honor Flight program.
